OUR STORY

A Legacy of Empowerment

Our journey began in 2009 with the O.S.E.R. L'Afrique collective, a movement dedicated to strengthening the capacities of young African entrepreneurs. After successfully training over 600 innovators through a series of workshops across Central and West Africa O'Botama was launched in 2018 as a Collaborative Innovation Workshop to continue this vital work. Today, we are an officially accredited incubator, dedicated to empowering the entrepreneurs who are building the Africa of tomorrow.

Our Mission

Our mission is to identify and guide innovative entrepreneurs by providing them with personalized support and strategic resources. We actively collaborate with local and international organizations to build a thriving ecosystem where projects are structured, businesses are investment-ready, and innovation flourishes.

Our Vision

To be the undisputed  benchmark for innovative entrepreneurial support in Cameroon and across Africa, recognized by entrepreneurs and institutions alike as the reference for strengthening the continent's business ecosystem.

Our Values

  • Innovation: We design creative and adaptive solutions tailored to the unique challenges of the digital arts and creative crafts sectors.
  • Collaboration: We work hand-in-hand with entrepreneurs, institutions, and partners to maximize our collective impact and create value.
  • Sharing: We are committed to disseminating knowledge, experience, and opportunities for the benefit of our entire community.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths
We are an officially accredited incubator recognized by MINPMEESA , with proven experience in supporting startups through strong partnerships with the EU, AFD, and GIZ. Our key strengths include specialized expertise in the digital and creative industries , and an extensive pan-African network through Afrilabs, Afric'innov, and a strategic partnership with Digital Africa.
Opportunities
We are positioned to capitalize on the rapid growth of Africa's entrepreneurial ecosystem and the increasing demand for expert support services. Key opportunities include developing new partnerships with public and private actors and leveraging the boom in the digital and creative industries, which aligns with our expertise.
Weaknesses
Our primary weaknesses include a dependency on external funding for our core support programs and a need to strengthen our brand visibility among investors and the public. We are also working to diversify our revenue streams and improve communication around our success stories and impact.
Threats
We face threats from increased competition among incubators and potential economic and political instability in the region. The persistent difficulty for startups to access financing , coupled with a potential decrease in international grants and the ongoing drain of talent to foreign markets, present significant challenges.
